In an aim to Ensure that your time on Facebook is well spent and promote meaningful/relevant conversations, Facebook is changing the way it displays public comments.
The Social Media giant is doing by going beyond its existing mechanism to rank just the posts in your newsfeed and also improving the display of comments.
The essence of the change are signals such as Integrity signals, Surveys/Feedback, How people interact with comments and What the poster controls.
Hence public comments will now have more prominence on Facebook when comments are made by the original creator (Page/Person) of a post and comments made by friends of the post creator (Page/Person).
Facebook continues to battle with its Privacy concerns and this update is an obvious aim towards helping to address this ongoing concerns. The update is smart and a no brainer when it comes to interactions on Facebook.
