After much teasings from Microsoft for over a week now, The Windows 1.11 app has arrived. The app not only celebrates Windows but also a tie-in to Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 3.

The app with its GUI interface comes with the original cmd prompt, the paint app, Write and Paint. Thanks to Glitches within the app related to the Upside Down world, there are little 8-bit mini-games which allows you to find clues and easter eggs related to the show.

The new app takes inspiration from the first version of the Windows Operating System, Windows 1.0 was released on November 20, 1984. A user of the app can take advantage of the great nostalgic look and feel of the app.

Microsoft seems to have a love for the Stranger Thing Series which extends to include a Stranger Things 3 Collectible Arcade Cabinet up for grabs for Xbox fans and even publishing a press release with a 1985 version attached upside down at the bottom to play into the Stranger Things vibe.

Yes, The app is not a full blown experience of the First version of The Windows OS but it offers a great experience to fans of the Stranger Things Series.

The App is available within the Windows App Store for Desktop PCs. You can even check out Microsofts Dedicated Stranger Things website.
